Noodlehead - The Range Backpack Sewing Pattern

An easy to wear and easy to make backpack. This useful backpack is great for everyday use. It features a secure fold over top and a front zippered pocket, perfect for keeping the essentials within easy reach. The straps are adjustable ensuring a comfortable fit for the wearer. 

Finished size is approximately 38cm/15" Tall (closed), 27cm/10½ " Wide and 10cm/4" Deep (at the base).

Materials needed include 

¾ metre / yard of 110cm / 44" Wide Fabric or ½ metre / yard of 135cm / 54" Wide Fabric for the exterior

 ½ metre / yard of Contrasting Fabric for the Bottom

1½ metres / yards Lining Fabric (includes exterior closure straps and interior pocket)

3½ metres / yards fusible woven interfacing (pellon SF101 - 20" wide)

1 metre / yard medium weight fusible interfacing (pellon 809 - 44" wide)*

2 x 1½" Wide rectangle rings and 2 x 1½" wide strap sliders

8" Zipper for the front zippered pouch

2 x 1" Wide D-Rings

Recommended Fabrics

For the exterior - Waxed canvas, cork fabric, cotton canvas, cotton/linen canvas, denim (quilting cotton can be used, add ½ yard of 6-9oz weight 44”-wide cotton canvas /duckcloth for stabilizer and an 18” square of low-loft cotton batting).

For the lining – Quilting Cotton.

*omit if using waxed canvas or cork.
