Aurifil’s 100% Egyptian Cotton 80wt thread is a super fine thread and it comes wound on beautiful cherry wooden spools. Aurifil threads produce virtually no lint making it one of the most popular threads amongst the quilting community. The 80wt is strong and thin and is the perfect thread for English paper piecing, hand finishing your binding, hand appliqué in particular needle turn appliqué, machine embroidery, machine appliqué, free motion quilting and free motion couching.
Needle Recommendations: 70/10 or 80/12 Microtex/Sharp or Embroidery Needles (80wt in the bobbin).
Tip: when hand sewing, use a short length of thread, around (12”-18”) to reduce tangling and breaking.
