Aurifil’s 100% Egyptian Cotton 50wt thread is our most versatile and most popular cotton thread. It is wound on the iconic orange spool. Aurifil threads produce virtually no lint making it one of the most popular threads amongst the quilting community. The 50wt is strong and thin and is the perfect piecing thread resulting in remarkably flat and crisp seams. While it is wonderful for piecing it is also suitable for needle turn applique, English paper piecing, bobbin and machine lace, machine applique, machine embroidery, machine and longarm quilting, basting, whole cloth and micro quilting.
